Cash was living in Rapidan, MN near Mankato in the 1970's when the Mankato Free Press ran an article about him with photos: "Sandon was one of four brothers who came off a musical barnstorming tour of the west coast in 1912 to operate a movie theater in Mankato. The four brothers stuck together as an orchestra locally doubling between pit band duty in their own theater and dances." In the late 1920's Cash and theaters. Cash also taught band for several years in the Mankato area. From the Mankato Free Press: "The long list of instruments he plays includes flute, piccolo, cornet, clarinet, alto horn, trombone, baritone, bass, drums, all members of the saxophone and rattle bones." The notation with one of the Mankato Free Press photos reads: "R. C.
